Town Council Meeting

As is the case on the first Monday of every month, the Town Council will meet this morning at 8:30 a.m. in the Council Chamber at the Maison Marcel Charvin. During this meeting, the minutes of the January 5th Town Council meeting will be approved, and the mayor's decisions will be read. Following the death of Councillor Gérard Mattis, a new councillor, Corinne Reversade, will be convened for today's meeting. Sixteen items will be on the agenda, including the 2030 Olympic Games, authorization to allocate subsidies to associations for the 2026 fiscal year, room rental fees at the Maison de Val, the establishment of free legal clinics, as well as 2026 festivals and ceremonies, the 2026 annual objectives agreement for the Freeski Academy Les Arcs association, and midweek transportation fees for students attending school in Bourg-Saint-Maurice. The meeting is open to the public and available live on the town hall's YouTube channel.

Réveil Avalin

Last night, the first public meeting of the Le Réveil Avalin list for the municipal elections in Le Fornet was held. All the candidates, headed by Xavier Mattis, presented themselves to the fifty or so people in attendance, including Patrick Martin, also a candidate for the municipal election, accompanied by some of his elected officials. Le Réveil Avalin outlined the four main points of its platform. This presentation was followed by a discussion on several topics, including communication between residents and the town hall, reasons to vote for this list, concerns about urban planning management, particularly regarding developers, as well as the issue of construction work during the summer and off-season, and the future of the ski area. This first meeting concluded with refreshments. The list of candidates also invited senior citizens to a "meeting with the elders" on Sunday, March 1st, at the farm. The next meeting of the hamlets of Châtelard and Joseray will be held this Sunday at 6 p.m. at the restaurant located on the snow front.
