Loyalty Medals
Five new loyalty medals were awarded this week. Emily Hohler received the copper medal for her 12 years of loyalty from her godmother, Violaine Schneider. Emily Hohler comes every winter with friends and family for the holidays.
Her partner, Tom Ward, also received the copper medal for his 12 years of loyalty from his godmother, Laure Yanne Schneider. He first came at the age of 10 with a friend and then returned with his family because he didn't want to be anywhere else. He recalls that during their first ski weekend in Val d'Isère, their youngest son was criticized for his behavior by his instructor, Violaine Schneider. Now 20 years old, their early skiing experience has blossomed into a beautiful friendship between his godmother's sister and her younger son. Their friends Helen and Frederick Collin also received the copper medal for their 12 years of loyalty from their godmothers, Violaine and Laure Yanne Schneider. They greatly appreciate the time they share on the slopes with their godmothers, lunches on the mountaintops, and the Monday market where they prepare their "chicken night," which has become a tradition. Frederick Collin remembers his first off-piste run, a moment suspended in time, as well as another ski trip to Charvet with his father-in-law. Jules Bonnevie, for his part, awarded the grand gold medal to Jacques Berton for his 51 years of loyalty. He tries to come to Val d'Isère as often as possible, both in summer and winter.
The next loyalty medal ceremony will take place on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
