The sun continues to shine locally, with passages of cloud throughout the day, before complete cloud cover takes over later this afternoon . Calm winds are predicted across our mountains today, picking up slightly tonight. A sturdy temperature inversion is in place this morning, at 9 a.m. it is -10°C in the village, -1.5°C at the top of Solaise and -7°C at Pisaillas. Today we can expect a top of -2°C here in town.
Roads
On the roads of Tarentaise today, no particular difficulties are expected in the direction of arrivals. However, traffic is possible at the end of the day between Albertville and Moutiers. It is recommended to avoid the area between 5 - 8 p.m.
Ski Report
It's looking to be a beautiful day in the mountains with all lifts in the ski area currently in operation. Almost all runs are open, most of which were groomed overnight.
The Pisaillas area will be open for skiing today with all lifts and runs open to the public. As for the Fornet area, all runs are open apart from the Tunnel.
Over on Solaise, all lifts will be open including the 3000 drag lift. The Piste L is now open to the public. Everything is open on the snowfront today, including the tobogganing area.
In the Bellevarde sector, all lifts are in operation, with all runs open to the public. The snowpark has its Small and Medium jump lines open, with the Large line coming soon! Skiing in Tignes can be accessed via either the Tommeuses or Borsat lifts.
Cross Country skiers and Pedestrians can choose from any of our trails and loops today.
The avalanche risk is 2/5 today. Always ski with a partner, have the appropriate gear and know how to use it, and if in doubt hire a guide.
Local News
The week will play host to the Classicaval festival, with the January opus, directed by Anne Lise Gastaldi. The Val d'Isère classical music festival is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and to properly celebrate this year promises to be bigger and better. Anne Lise Gastaldi is accompanied by 12 other musicians including trio regulars George Sand as well as Volkhard Steude, the principal concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. This year will also feature new talents; students from the National Higher Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon.
Another event on the program this week, is an evening dedicated to stargazing on Tuesday night. Following the success of the Curious Spirit festival this summer, the cultural department of Val d'Isère is hosting two observation sessions with Franck Razafimaharo, an astronomer working to bring science back into fashion. The first session is at 5:30 p.m., and the second at 6:30 p.m., both near the Joseray chapel. Registrations can be made at the media library, hurry as places are limited.
A few words about alpine skiing, with a new podium finish for Cyprien Sarrazin, coming in 2nd place in yesterday's Downhill in Wengen. Alongside the victor, Marco Odermatt, the two athletes were in a world of their own, with 3rd place, Italian Dominik Paris, following behind by almost a second and a half. Last race in Wengen today with a slalom, with Clément Noël at the start gate. First round at 10:15 a.m.
Among the ladies, Sofia Gogia won yesterday on the descent of Altenmarkt Zauchensee. Laura Gauche signs her first top 10 of the season by finishing in 9th place. “Enough to build for the future” affirmed the girl. Super G today in Austria for ladies, departure at 11 a.m.

- 5 p.m. Introduction to Fat Biking: Every Sunday evening, come and learn about electric Fat-Bikes on the snow. Fred (Instructor-guide) offers you a free introduction of a few minutes to help you discover this new snow sport. Meet in front of the Aqua Leisure Complex.

- The Red Shuttle will be circulating between La Daille and the Fornet every 6 minutes from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and then every 20 minutes until 2 a.m.
- The Yellow shuttle, up to the Manchet Valley, leaves every 15 minutes between 8:30 a.m. and 11:20 p.m.
- The Blue shuttle going up to the Legattaz is every 15 minutes between 8:30 a.m and 11:20 p.m.
- The free shuttle between Tignes and Val d'Isère runs 6 times a day :
