Weather

This morning’s cloud cover is already starting to lift up and disappear. Afterwards, the sun will more or less stay hidden behind a veil of cloud for the rest of the day. A moderate Northerly wind will continue to blow across the mountains.
As for temperatures at 9 a.m. it’s 0°C in the village, a little cooler up high with -7.5°C at the summit of Bellevarde and -11°C at Pisaillas. Today we can expect a top of 2 degrees at 2000m.

Roads

Despite a couple of fresh centimetres of snow overnight, the roads are mostly clear, with no difficulties expected for those equipped with the mandatory winter equipment.

Ski Report

Great conditions across the entire ski area , with a couple of centimetres of fresh snow arriving overnight.

The Pisaillas and Fornet sectors will be open, with all runs apart from the Tunnel.

Over on Solaise, everything is open, likewise on the snowfront. With the warm temperatures in the afternoon, piste L will likely close later this afternoon. The Lasinant chairlift is currently closed due to an electrical issue.

In the Bellevarde sector, there is race training this morning on the top sections of the OK and Orange runs and the Raye, and it will re-open to the public later in the day. The Santons will close later in the day due to rising avalanche danger. Skiing in Tignes can be accessed via both the Borsat and Tommeuse chairlifts.

Cross Country skiers and Pedestrians can choose from any of our trails and ski loops today, apart from the Branges.

The avalanche risk is 2/5 today. Always ski with a partner, have the appropriate gear and know how to use it, and if in doubt hire a guide.

Local News

60 spectators attended the preview of the film “14 Days to Get Better” at the Val d'Isère cinema last night. A preview which took place without the lead actor, Maxime Gasteuil, absent due to family issues. The director Edouard Pluvieux was, however, present to answer questions from the public after the screening, as well as Esteban, one of the actors in the film, also the singer of the group Naïve New Beaters.

Val d'Isère firefighters were called out yesterday morning to an establishment on the Place des Dolomites, following reports of suspicious odours of gasoline. Ultimately, it turned out that a fuel tank had just been filled, with the smell leaking into the corridors, and therefore a false alarm.

The torchlight descent returns again this evening, with all the ESF instructors. A spectacle which will leave a little later, at 6:45 p.m., once night falls. We are expecting a large number of instructors this evening on the Face de Bellevarde, as well as two fireworks displays hoping to delight the spectators.
At the foot of the Olympique cable car, come and enjoy local warm drinks served by the ESF instructors. The deposit for an Ecocup is €2, and it's encouraged to keep your glass as a souvenir while doing a good deed, as all proceeds will be donated to the local charity “Dans les Yeux de Gabin”.
