Weather

Today is going to be another beautiful day. No changes can be expected, as we are looking forward to another day of sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures. Across the mountains, a light North-Westerly wind will be present, currently just a light breeze up in the Pisaillas area.
As for temperatures, at 9 o’clock it is 5°C in the village, 12°C at the top of Bellevarde, and 7°C at Pisaillas. Today we're expecting a top of 15°C at 2000m.

Roads

No difficulties are expected for vehicles travelling on the local roads today.

Ski Report

As we head into spring, some runs will close throughout the day due to rising avalanche danger with the current weather conditions.

The Pisaillas and Fornet sectors will be opening to the public today, all lifts and runs are expected to open. The Combe du Geant may close due to avalanche danger.

Over on Solaise, all lifts will open on time this morning, however the Piste L will not open today, and the Marmottons is now closed at the bottom. Everything will be open on the snowfront today.

In the Bellevarde sector, the majority of the terrain will be open today apart from the Santons and the two Border Crosses. Portions of the OK and Orange, and 3J runs will be reserved for racing today, and will reopen to the public afterwards. Skiing in Tignes can be accessed via the Tommeuse or Borsat lifts.

Cross Country skiers can choose between the ski loops in the Manchet Valley and the Lac de l'Ouillette. Pedestrians can head out to any of our trails today, apart from the Branges.

The avalanche risk is 2/5 today. Always ski with a partner, have the appropriate gear and know how to use it, and if in doubt hire a guide.

Local News

New week of season, and a new week of school holidays. On this Saturday, zone A, which includes the local area, joins zone C for the spring holidays. This results in a decline of overnight tourist stays. The decline that began last week continues, with this week an occupancy rate of 38.5%, or 30,800 overnight stays. This is a 35% drop in attendance compared to the 48,300 overnight stays last week.
It’s also notably less busy than the same week last year. In 2023, the week of April 15 to 22 hosted 47,400 overnight stays.

Spring cleaning has begun along the village's roads. With the good weather over the last three days, the technical services have been cleaning the streets of the village. Although a street sweeper has been active for around ten days now, technical service agents began cleaning with a hose on Thursday, in order to rid the streets of sand and dust.
This spring cleaning should be interrupted at the beginning of next week with the return of poor weather and precipitation.

A great turnout for Léo's Invitational yesterday in the Manchet valley. Our video and photos will be published today on the website.
