SKI REPORT
For the most up-to-date information please click here
Here are the highlights of the ski report.
Only one lift closed, and most pistes both open and groomed.
ON BELLEVARDE
Go to the snow park if you fancy a jump.
Jumping onto busy pistes is not cool, and dangerous.
There is training this morning
on the Raye, and upper parts of the OK and Orange
but they will then open for you.
ON SOLAISE
Only the 3000 lift and piste are closed.
The Cugnai, S and the Marmottons were not groomed.
They are doing some work on the Junior Border cross.
LE FORNET
Everything will open except the Tunnel.
ON PISAILLAS
The top of the Montets is closed.
It didn’t snow much in last few days, and the wind didn’t do much damage,
so the avalanche risk today is 2 out of 5.
Low risk, but still a risk,
particularly for ski tourers on north facing slopes
far from the pistes.
If you fancy skiing off piste, choose your companions carefully.
Do they all have a beep, probe and shovel,
know how to use them, and have practiced, successfully, recently ?
Any doubts ? Stay on piste or book to ski with a mountain guide.
If you are going to Tignes, use the Tommeuse or Borsat chairlifts.
All our walking, multi activity and cross country tracks are open.
This morning, our pisteur Gerard Mattis reminded everyone :
The Face is only a racetrack during the World Cup, or Olympics.
Day to day there are intersections,
People may be stopped, hidden over a roll.
At the bottom there will be children, lots of them, on the nursery slope.
Control your speed at all times, particularly on green and quiet areas
and always as you approach areas where pistes cross.
The skier arriving from above is always responsible for avoiding those below.
No exceptions, no excuses.
