WEATHER

We continue our run of sunny, not too chilly days.
With beautiful snow, and groomed pistes.
We still have a temperature inversion.

At 09.30 it is

  • -6° in the Village
  • -2°on the Pisaillas
  • +3° on Bellevarde

The maximum temperature at 2000 metres will be +4°

ROADS

There are no problems on the roads at the moment
for those who drive sensibly
In cars properly equipped for the winter.

SKI REPORT

For the most up to date information
regarding what is open, or closed, click here!

The highlights from this mornings ski report follows :

ON BELLEVARDE

All lifts are open
And only 2 slopes will remain closed :

Boarder cross
Brinzei - the team are working to open this beginners touring track soon.

Go to the Snow Park if you fancy jumping =
Rather than risk landing on, and injuring some innocent skier on the piste.

On Solaise

All our lifts are open except for the 3000 draglift.
The few pistes that will be closed all day are

S
L
3000
Marmottons

The  Arcelle is a bit thin.

The wind has been mean to all our mountains,
But le Fornet and le Pisaillas Have taken the brunt.

The return from the top of the bubbles is 'challenging'.
Even just as far as the Leissere chairlift.
Especially beginners, as we like you to enjoy your all of your holiday,
consider taking the fast, comfy new bubbles down.

All lifts are open in le Fornet
Except the signal draglift

The pistes that are open in Le Fornet are

Mangard
Pyramides
Pont abate
Arollay
Vallon

At the Pisaillas
Lifts are open except pays desert draglift

if you are heading to Tignes
take the Tommeuses or the Borsat chairlifts.

The avalanche risk today is 3 out of 5.

Always think very carefully before skiing off piste.
Easily accessible areas close to lifts are pretty tracked out
but the serious risk of a bad fall, into a hole, or
onto something very hard remains.

If you are with someone who has an accident, on or off piste
Remember that the phone number for the ski patrol
is on the back of your ski pass.
Maybe store it in your phone, including the plus +33 code for France.
Phoning this number will get you help much more quickly than
Dialing 112.

If you fancy Crosscountry skiing, there are tracks prepared
In the Manchet valley
Lac Ouillette
La Daille

We have a good choice for walkers
as all our tracks are open
Except for
Le Branges
And Joseray

beside the fireplace.

Or their special menu on New Years Eve.

Today is your last chance to test Stöckli skis.
Go to the Signal restaurant, at the top of the Fornet cablecar

While you are there, why not try one of the new pizzas……
From the Signal, not Stöckli  !

Up for some music this evening ?
