Roads

This weekend, 67,000 vehicles are expected on the roads of Haute-Tarentaise heading north and 74,000 south.

Truck stuck
Traffic was disrupted yesterday at midday between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Val d'Isère. A truck was stuck on the bend at the Sainte-Foy-de-Tarentaise hairpins, blocking traffic in both directions. The road was reopened to traffic after 20 minutes.
Visitor numbers
For this first week of the March school break, the occupancy rate will be 88%, with a total of 87,800 overnight stays. The school holidays are now over, with February slightly down compared to last year.
The observatory, which works with the Tourist Office, is forecasting strong visitor numbers for the March school break.

Dynastar Trophy
Last night, nearly 80 vacationers took part in the final parallel slalom head-to-head race on the Savonnette slope. In the junior category, Arthur Bruyant took first place, ahead of Valentin Desmidt and Victor Tournier Stein. In the women's category, Sandrine Compagnat won, ahead of Florence Richard and Elléa Thouvenin. Finally, on the men's side, Benoît Xambili took the victory, followed by Charles Compagnat and Yves Rutschmann. The competition was conducted with great sportsmanship and in a fantastic atmosphere with an energetic crowd. A few participants straddled some gates, resulting in a few spectacular falls. Michaël Guttmann won the pair of skis from the resort's partner brand.
Loyalty Medal
Three new loyalty medals were awarded this week. Hugo Kirby received the Grand Gold Medal for his 54 years of loyalty from his sponsor, John Yates Smith. Every year, he and his family come to Val d'Isère during the winter holidays. A family tradition that continues, as he explains.

- Yellow Shuttle (Le Coin – Le Manchet): first departure from Le Coin at 8:28 a.m. and last arrival at Le Manchet at 11:20 p.m. Shuttles run every 20 minutes.
- Purple Shuttle (Val d’Isère – Tignes): first departure from the new bus station at
8:05 a.m. and last at 6:20 p.m. Two request stops are planned on this route,
including La Reculaz and Le Villaret du Nial.
