Local News

Scara

The 46th edition of the Scara takes place today in La Daille. Often compared to a Junior World Cup, the Scara is the premier international alpine skiing competition for the U14 and U16 categories. It brings together the best young French and international skiers. For four days, more than 15,000 athletes from 100 ski clubs, representing 42 nations, will compete on the famous OK and Orange slopes in La Daille. Since its inception, many iconic figures of French skiing have made their debuts at this event, including Clément Noël. Today and tomorrow will be dedicated to the French pre-qualifications and qualifications, which will determine the athletes who will participate in the Scara international races on Thursday and Friday. The French U16s kick off the pre-qualifications and qualifications this morning. Pre-qualification practice runs will be held at 8:45 a.m. for the boys and 11:00 a.m. for the girls, followed by qualification practice runs for the boys at 12:45 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. for the girls, before the official start of the boys' and girls' qualifications at 1:45 p.m.

Encounter with Mountain Wildlife

STVI and the Vanoise National Park invite you to discover winter wildlife through an interactive activity. This morning's program includes learning about animal tracks and how to identify signs left by animals, understanding their habitats, winter behavior, and sensitivities, as well as receiving advice on how to better protect mountain wildlife. Participants will be able to observe the animals through a telescope, which will be available to the public. The event is free and will take place this morning at 10:00 a.m. on the new terrace of the Fornet arrival station.

Solaise Border Cross

Perhaps you've already tried it: the ski patrol has introduced a new border cross course in the Solaise area. Accessible from the Glacier run via the chairlift of the same name, it finishes on the Datcha plateau above the mountain restaurant. A new route to enjoy the thrills of skiing and discover new sensations. The ski patrol reminds everyone that this activity depends on your skill level and must be undertaken safely.
