Local News

Birth of Avaline

Little Avaline brought immense joy to her parents this Christmas (see photo). Avaline was born on December 23rd around 10 pm at a hospital in Glasgow, Scotland. The little girl, weighing approximately 3 kilos of pure love, fills her parents, Ethan and Laura Rébert, with happiness. Ethan Rébert is a native of Val d'Isère. He left his mountain home at the age of 19 to study physiotherapy in Scotland, where he met his wife, Laura, a schoolteacher. Deeply attached to his roots, it was only natural that he named his first daughter Avaline. The family lives in Scotland near Glasgow and often returns to Val d'Isère to visit family and friends. Congratulations to the new parents!

Dynastar Slalom

The Dynastar Trophy is tonight on the Savonnette slope. Holidaymakers can participate in a parallel slalom with direct elimination, open to all, to experience the thrills of competitive skiing. Prizes from the resort's partner brand will be up for grabs, as well as a pair of skis in a prize draw. Registration takes place today from 9:00 AM at the Sports Club. Please note that places are limited to 32 for men and children and 16 for women. Bib collection will take place at 5:30 PM before the start of the race, scheduled for 5:45 PM.

Loyalty Medal

Three new loyalty medals were awarded Tuesday evening. Maëlle Fisselier received the copper medal for her 18 years of loyalty. The 28-year-old from Brittany has always come to Val d'Isère with her parents, who have been passionate about the resort for many years. Maëlle Fisselier loves the village, the ski area, and spending time with her friends and family. Her godmother, Dominique Jaillet, gave her a ski trail marker with her name on it. A gift that touched her deeply. Maëlle Fisselier reminisced about many memories of her time in Val d'Isère.

Christophe Ehret received the silver medal for his 30 years of loyalty. He loves the resort for its beautiful slopes and its charming village, which is home to many athletes. His godmother, Laure Yanne Schneider, gave him a lovely Val d'Isère cap. Originally from Tour du Pin, Christophe Ehret started skiing at the age of 36 right here in Val d'Isère and wanted to give his daughters the opportunity to learn to ski from a very young age.

Mathieu Sabbagh also received the silver medal for his 32 years of loyalty. He has been coming to Val d'Isère all his life, with his grandparents, his parents, and now his children. He appreciates the resort's sporty, festive, and natural aspects. His fondest memory of Val d'Isère will always be his wedding.

His godfather is Jean-Christophe Moris. The ceremony was officiated by Bérengère Courtois.
