Boulder on the tracks
Yesterday around noon, train service was interrupted on the Moutiers and Bourg-Saint-Maurice line due to an obstruction on the tracks. A significant 300-kilogram boulder had fallen near Centron. SNCF (the French National Railway Company) provided replacement buses, particularly for OUIGO trains. Specialized teams responded quickly to remove the boulder from the tracks in the afternoon. Normal service resumed by the end of the day.
Cross-Country Ski Race
Last night, the Place des Dolomites was transformed into a cross-country ski track for a lively night race. Forty amateur skiers competed on a temporary course, set up by the ski patrol, featuring bumps and banked turns. This friendly competition was an American-style relay: two people per team took turns for 20 minutes to complete as many laps as possible. After an intense race and several spectacular falls in a convivial and energetic atmosphere, the "Les Chamois Brameurs" team, made up of Baptiste and Martin, took first place with 25 laps, closely followed by the Lidl youth team, Maxence and Guillaume, with 22 laps. The "Frères," Rosco and Jackson, finished third with 20 laps. Participants also had the opportunity to test equipment loaned by the sports shops in the Place des Dolomites.
