This morning In the mountains and high valleys, the sea of ​​clouds will quickly dissipate, giving way to a bluebird day. Around midday, the wind strengthens and shifts to the Southeast at higher altitudes: it brings back clouds and then light precipiation to the Haute-Maurienne border region. 


Currently at 8.30 it is  -6.3°C up at the Pisaillas, -3.5°C at the top of Bellevarde, -1 degrees up on solaise and -3°C here in town. Today we can expect a top of 2°C in the village.


Roads

Due to the Christmas parade, Avenue Olympique will be closed to traffic between the two roundabouts from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Access will be reserved for pedestrians only.

Critérium Recap
The 70th Critérium de la Première Neige has come to a close. This anniversary edition was marked by the return of the women's races to the Oreiller-Killy slope in La Daille. A truly wonderful edition.


In total, more than 19,000 spectators attended the four men's and women's races over the two weekends. This sporting event brings together more than 700 people involved in organizing the race, including approximately 250 volunteers.

The Critérium was marked by three anniversaries: the 100th anniversary of Henri Oreiller's birth, the 90th anniversary of the Clubs des Sports, and the 70th anniversary of the Critérium itself. The Sports Club is already debriefing before moving on to preparations for the next edition, as well as all its events for the winter and summer seasons.

Santa Claus STVI and Snowpark
Santa Claus is hitting the slopes! Accompanied by his faithful elf, the famous man in the long red coat will be on the ski slopes to hand out chocolates to skiers and snowboarders. He will first be at the base of the slopes at 10:00 AM, then on the magic carpets and at Madeleine at 11:00 AM. In the afternoon, at 2 p.m., you can catch a glimpse of him near the large Val d'Isère letters in Grand Pré before heading to the Gypaète play area. Santa will also be riding the features in the Snowpark. The team will be organizing a big game: a Santa hunt with costumes encouraged and prizes to be won.

Santa's Village
On Christmas Eve, Santa will also be gracing us with his presence in the village to meet the children. To celebrate his arrival, a parade will be held on Avenue Olympique at 5 p.m., followed by a stop at the Tourist Office square to meet children and adults alike, and above all, to capture this moment and celebrate the magic of Christmas. Hot local drinks will be offered during this encounter. It's a chance to spend some time with Santa before he sets off on his gift-giving tour.

Christmas Makeup Workshop
After the elf hut, the Christmas magic in Val d'Isère continues. A Christmas-themed makeup workshop will be held in the Tourist Office Square from 3 pm to 7 pm. Reservations are required and can be made at the Tourist Office reception desk or on the day itself with the makeup artists.

Christmas Mass
The Church of Saint-Bernard de Menthon will host a celebration and a Christmas Eve vigil for children. Songs and prayers will resonate in the church starting at 7 pm. Tomorrow, two Christmas Masses will be held with Bishop Verny at 5 pm and 7 pm. The Christmas carols in English, initially scheduled for 3 pm, have unfortunately been canceled.

ESF Show

The ESF (French Ski School) put on a magnificent first show last night on the Bellevarde slope. 180 ski instructors completed a torchlight descent, as did the 80 children from the Sports Club accompanied by their coaches. 12 synchronized skiers from the Val d'Isère team also descended, adorned in LED lights. With Christmas approaching, Santa Claus also surprised everyone by setting off not one, but two fireworks displays. 4,227 people were present to admire this ESF show on the snow front.

Red Shuttle (La Daille - Le Fornet) every 10 minutes thereaAfter nightfall, departures from La Daille from
6:30 PM to 2:30 AM and from Le Fornet from 6:50 PM to 2:50 AM. A shuttle
every 20 minutes.
Blue Shuttle (Roundabout at the slopes – Legettaz): every 15 minutes from 8:30
a.m. to 11:20 p.m.
Yellow Shuttle (Le Coin – Le Manchet): departs Le Coin at 8:28 a.m. and arrives
at Le Manchet at 11:20 p.m. Shuttles run every 20 minutes.
Purple Shuttle (Val d’Isère – Tignes): first departure from the new bus station at
7:55 a.m. and last at 6:20 p.m. Two request stops are planned on this route,
including La Reculaz and Le Villaret du Nial.
