The victim, a 42-year-old man, was suffering from back, pelvic, and abdominal pain. He was airlifted by the Choucas 73 helicopter and the Modane High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM) to the hospital in Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Ski patrollers remind everyone of the importance of reporting accidents so they can respond quickly.
Visitor Numbers
Before the start of the Christmas holidays, the occupancy rate was 67%, a significant increase of 6% compared to last year, representing 72,900 overnight stays. As an international ski resort, with 75% of its visitors coming from abroad during the winter season, the top five nationalities include the British, French, Scandinavians, Americans, and Poles. Val d'Isère Tourism is implementing a strategy to promote the destination to several countries with limited budgets, as explained by Cécile Ferrando, Director of the Tourist Office.
The Spanish community is also present in the village due to their holiday week called Linmaculada.
Cinema for Little Ones
In partnership with the Les Arcs Film Festival, the "Le Jardin des Mômes" child and parent center and the Val d'Isère daycare center present a musical comedy accompanied by storytelling and fun activities. There, he can finally enjoy the sun and get a tan. An opportunity to discover cinema in a new way, while awakening the curiosity of little ones in the company of a dreamy penguin. The event starts at 10:00 AM at the Cinéma Le Splendid. Admission is free and open to children aged 2 and up.
