Weather

A beautiful day is due, the sun is shining this morning. This afternoon, numerous cumulus clouds will develop over the peaks. Temperatures are still a bit low for this time of year, and the north wind will reinforce the feeling of the cold. The north to northeast wind is strengthening again, the north wind is picking up with gusts of 50kmph .

Currently at 8am it is  -8°C up at the Pisaillas, -7°C at the top of Bellevarde, -6 degrees up on solaise and -8°C here in town. Today we can expect a top of 2°C in the village.

Roads

The roads are clear.

Alternating one-way traffic is still in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the RD 902 at the location known as "Le Rassel" in Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise due to the ongoing repairs to the Jorat wall.

On the RN 90, the Siaix tunnel will be closed to traffic in both directions from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. until tomorrow. During the renovation and improvement of the tunnel's ventilation system, a detour is in place for light vehicles only, via the RD 220 and RD 88, Notre-Dame-du-Pré.

Scara Awards Ceremony for French U14 and U16 Qualifiers

After two days of pre-qualifying and qualifying rounds for the Scara French Championships, the results were announced last night at the awards ceremony on the Avenue Olympique. In the U14 girls' category, Liv Mazel from the Alpe d'Huez Sports Club took first place, followed by Charlie Blanchon representing Pyrénées 2000 and Naya Gharfi from the Méribel Sports Club. In the boys' category, Gabin Verthier from Méribel triumphed over Louis Hudry from Les Menuires and Marcel Richard from Morzine-Avoriaz. In the U16 girls' category, Tessa Naël won on home turf, ahead of Mina Sechaud representing Saint-Jean-d'Aulps and Lilly Vaquerizo from the Vaujany Sports Club. Due to weather conditions, the U16 boys' qualifying rounds were cancelled. Nevertheless, Jules Dufour Drai, Timéo Lefranc, Alexis Mathey, and Hélori Treffot will indeed be competing in the two FIS races, Slalom and Super-G.

Scara Today's Program

The Scara FIS races begin this morning (see photo). The U14s will compete in a Super-G on the OK and Orange courses, with course familiarization before the start of the race at 9:30 a.m. for the girls and 10:30 a.m. for the boys. The U16s will compete in a slalom. Course familiarization for the first run will take place from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. before the start of the boys' first run at 9:15 a.m., followed by the start of the girls' first run at 10:45 a.m. The boys will start their second run at 12:15 p.m., while the girls will start at 1:15 p.m.

Scara Activities


At the end of the day, the Scara youth will parade through the streets of Val d'Isère starting at 5:45 pm for the Parade of Nations on Avenue Olympique. This international parade will be followed by the FIS awards ceremony for the U14 Super-G and the U16 Slalom on Avenue Olympique at 6:20 pm. From 7 pm, the coaches will enjoy a private party at a festive mountain restaurant.

Queer Givré.e.s Party


The Queer Givré.e.s are putting on a show. Tonight, starting at 11 pm in a Val d'Isère club, the LGBTQ+ collective will present an extraordinary evening with a drag show and an electronic music DJ set. After their great success last year, Princesse Tam Tam, Alexia Carington, and Suze Sixrose are returning to Val d'Isère with a new drag performer: Françoise, also known as Pollution. A show promising burlesque, glamour, and humor, but also sexy and daring pop energy.
The Drag Show will begin at 11:30 p.m. and will be followed by two DJ sets, including Désenchanté and Mile Dietrich, to get us grooving and dancing to trance, hard house, and electro-punk music. The evening is free and open to all.

Mass

Today, the faithful will celebrate Holy Thursday at the Church of Saint-Bernard in Menthon. At 7:00 p.m., Christians will commemorate the institution of the Eucharist by Jesus Christ at the Last Supper, the last meal Jesus shared with his disciples the night before his crucifixion.

Transports

-  Red Shuttle (La Daille - Le Fornet) every 10 minutes. After nightfall, departures from La Daille from 6:30 PM to 2:30 AM and from Le Fornet from 6:50 PM to 2:50 AM. A shuttle
every 20 minutes.
-  Blue Shuttle (Roundabout at the slopes – Legettaz): every 15 minutes from 8:30
a.m. to 11:20 p.m.
-  Yellow Shuttle (Le Coin – Le Manchet): first departure from Le Coin at 8:28 a.m. and last arrival at Le Manchet at 11:20 p.m. Shuttles run every 20 minutes.
-  Purple Shuttle (Val d’Isère – Tignes): first departure from the new bus station at
8:05 a.m. and last at 6:20 p.m. Two request stops are planned on this route,
including La Reculaz and Le Villaret du Nial.
