French Team
To best prepare for the Critérium de la Première Neige on December 13th and 14th, our French team will train this morning on the legendary Face de Bellevarde. Enthusiasts and curious onlookers alike can watch our Olympic champion Clément Noël, Victor Muffat-Jeandet, and Paco Rassat compete in slalom starting at 9:30 am. The Face remains closed to the public, and the Olympic Stadium is reserved until the end of the week for the French team, as well as the other Swiss, Norwegian, Italian, and American teams.
Snow Control
At the same time, the International Ski Federation's snow control will take place. Thanks to the work done by the Ski Patrol and the perfect conditions at the start of the season, the Club des Sports is confident that the FIS will validate the 70th anniversary of the Criterium.
New Machine Concept
The ski patrollers also tested a new injection machine at the bottom of La Face slope throughout yesterday. This new concept comes directly from La Thuile in Italy and was loaned to the Val d'Isère patrollers for testing, as explained by Jean Bianchi, Head of the Racing Department at the Ski Patrol Authority.
“This machine uses the same amount of water as the Steinbach but with greater precision and consistency. Two passes were carried out over a 16-meter width, allowing us to see the results and quality during the athletes' training session this morning on La Face. This is a first in France.”
Open House at the Aquasport Center
The Aquasport Center invites the public to its open house today. This is an opportunity to discover the many activities offered throughout the day. A breakfast will be served at 10:00 AM in the Lounge area before the presentation of various classes, including mega HIIT, yoga, aquastep, stretching, circuit training, and aquabiking. A new activity will also be offered: Body Barre, a class that strengthens all muscle groups. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary 15-minute massage and free access to the weight training/cardio and pool/wellness areas. To fully enjoy the facilities and activities, don't forget to bring your trainers, workout clothes, and a swimsuit.
Telethon Cakes
After the children, it's our seniors' turn to make Christmas shortbread cookies for the Telethon. The baking will take place in the Council Chamber at the Maison Marcel Charvin at 2:30 p.m. These cookies will then be on sale at the firefighters' stand for any participants who wish to purchase them.
Christmas Cookie Sales
As we mentioned, the elementary school children participated in making Christmas cookies for the Téléthon. Having made about a hundred extra bags, the Christmas cookies will be sold for €5 each at school dismissal today at 4:45 p.m., in front of the preschool.
