Today's FAD Program
Last night, 1 260 people attended the second day of the International Adventure and Discovery Film Festival at the Henri Oreiller Congress Center (pictured). Tonight, three new films in competition will be screened at the Henri Oreiller Congress Center and the Le Splendid Cinema. At 5:30 p.m., the public can see the film "Guts, a Female Expedition Through Africa" with director Patrizia Bruno in attendance. Patrizia and Marie left everything behind to embark on a five-month, 20,000-kilometer off-road journey from Biarritz to Guinea-Bissau. Their mission: to collect the stories of inspiring women who are redefining their place in society across Northwest Africa. The second film, showing at 7:15 p.m., is "Better Up There," with director Mathis Dumas and protagonist Léo Slemett in attendance. This is a self-portrait of Léo through his rise in the world of freeride skiing, where he pursues his dreams and pushes his limits on the Freeride World Tour. At 8:45 pm, the final film, "Loving Karma," by David Arnaud and Hugo Clouzeau, will be shown, with the protagonist, Lobsang Phuntsok, in attendance.
Phuntsok was sent to a Tibetan Buddhist monastery as a young boy. After working for several years as a spiritual teacher in the United States, he returned to his birthplace in the Indian Himalayas to create the "Garden of Love and Compassion," a home for wounded children like himself.
