FAD Opening Ceremony
Last night, the 29th International Adventure and Discovery Film Festival opened at the Henri Oreiller Convention Center. 1,432 people attended the first day of the festival. Sylvain Tesson presided over the opening ceremony and introduced the jury members to the audience, including Jean-Marc Rochette, Elodie Suigo, Salomé Cholet, and Matthieu Tordeur, who shared their expectations for the screening of the 11 films in competition.
FAD Today's Program
Three new films in competition will be screened this evening at the Henri Oreiller Convention Center and the Le Splendid Cinema. At 5:30 p.m., the public can see the film "Sombori, Expedition to an Unexplored Archipelago" by Vincent Perazio, with the protagonist, Evrard Wendenbaum, in attendance. The latter returns to the Sombori archipelago, southeast of Sulawesi in Indonesia. Accompanied by local researchers and the inhabitants of Mbokita, Evrard Wendenbaum leads a multidisciplinary scientific mission on biodiversity and pollution. The second film, shown at 7:15 pm, is "Side to Side" by Jérôme Dalle Mule, with protagonists François Pons and Marc Bouzik in attendance. Ten years earlier, François was involved in a serious road accident. To prove to him that he is still capable of extraordinary feats despite his disability, his cousin Marc proposes a crazy project: to travel from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast in a sidecar. The final film, "Tumur, the Bandit of the Steppes" by Hamid Sardar, will be shown as a preview, exclusively in theaters, at 8:45 pm. This is an equestrian adventure set in Mongolia in the 1970s. The film is inspired by the true story of Tumur, the mountain man, a legendary horse thief who stole from the rich to give to the poor.
