Local News
We have learned of the passing of Christian Divay, who left us on Monday, February 23rd at the age of 85. Arriving in 1968 in a Citroën 2CV from Paris during a snowstorm with his lifelong friend Marion Gaté, he spent his entire career with STVI as a lift operator and was also in charge of the Santel chairlift. He was never without his binoculars, observing the wildlife between customers. Reserved, minimalist, and passionate about nature, he loved being at high altitudes. An atypical personality, he traveled the world on long hikes, sometimes even barefoot, always accompanied by his old backpack. He also appeared as an extra in "Les Bronzés font du ski". A unique but nonetheless memorable role, as he was the one who stopped the chairlift where Jean-Claude Dusse found himself stranded, singing his famous song "Étoile des neiges"
