Regulations and Safety in entertainment venues

Following the tragedy in Crans-Montana, some professionals in the nightlife industry are raising concerns about regulations and safety in entertainment venues. Cyril Bonnevie, manager of three establishments in Val d'Isère and Tignes, is alerting the authorities, including the Minister of the Interior and the Prefect of Savoie, to the urgent need for improved safety in these establishments. He is calling for stricter regulations from the fire and safety commission and a review of the establishments' classification system.

This industry professional also calls for a thorough reflection on the local area to raise awareness of the risks and mitigate them. As a reminder, the fire in a bar in Crans-Montana on New Year's Eve left 40 dead, including 20 minors, and 116 injured. The couple who owned the bar are suspected of "negligent homicide, negligent bodily harm, and negligent arson." The Swiss justice system ruled yesterday to keep the owner in pretrial detention for three months. His wife and co-owner will not be detained.
