Local News

Criterium Training

After a first training session in the sunshine yesterday, the female athletes are back training in real conditions today at 10:30 a.m. on the OK course before the start of the Women's Criterium. It promises to be an exciting weekend with a determined French team and the return of American Lindsey Vonn.

The downhill race will take place at 10:30 a.m. on the Oreiller-Killy course in La Daille, while the super-G will be held on Sunday at 11:00 a.m., also on the OK course.

Karen Clément

Karen Clément will not participate in the downhill and super-G events of the Critérium Dames. The 26-year-old athlete from Nice is suffering from lower back problems and is expected to undergo medical examinations in the coming days.

Ken Caillot finished 46th in the downhill race in Val Gardena, Italy. Swiss skier Marco Odermat took his 50th World Cup victory, followed by his compatriot Franjo Von Allmen and Italian Dominik Paris.

Santa Claus at the Preschool

Santa Claus will be visiting the preschool children this morning, much to their delight. The man in the red coat will spend the morning with the little ones from 9:00 am, distributing gifts and sharing a snack. To thank him, the children have prepared several Christmas carols.

CCAS Lottery

Around twenty seniors participated in the grand lottery yesterday afternoon. Around twenty prizes were up for grabs, including gift baskets, decorations, clothing, wine, and even aperitifs at restaurants. The seniors were treated to these prizes thanks to the generous donations of many local businesses in Val d'Isère. Luck smiled on some, including Dominique Lallemend, who won three times. The grand prize winner was Odette Vincent, who won a meal for two at a top restaurant in the resort.
