Local News

Slalom Results
Yesterday, the World Cup Slalom event took place on the legendary Face de Bellevarde. Under sunny skies and challenging snow conditions, Norway's Timon Haugan took first place in 1 minute and 37 seconds, followed by Switzerland's Loïc Meillard and Norway's Henrik Kristoffersen. Loïc Meillard also brought glory to Swiss skiing by winning the gold medal in Giant Slalom and the silver medal in Slalom.

Unfortunately, no podium finish for the French athletes, who nevertheless tried to stand out, fueled by the energy and encouragement of the crowd. Three Frenchmen finished in the top 15: Steven Amiez, Auguste Aulnette, and Hugo Desgrippes. Victor Muffat-Jeandet once again finished in the top 20, placing 18th, a disappointing result.

While leading by six-tenths of a second in the second run, Clément Noël straddled a gate on the lower part of the course. Despite the frustration of missing his home advantage, our Olympic champion could count on the support and applause of the crowd.

Wearing the red bib, Paco Rassat also straddled the gate during the first run, as did Antoine Azzolin. This weekend, rich in sport and emotion, brought together 15,500 people. 200 volunteers were on hand to ensure the smooth running of the event. The Critérium de la Première Neige returns this weekend, highlighting women's alpine skiing with the downhill race on Saturday and the super-G on Sunday.

Black Ice Warning
In recent days, firefighters have been called out to incidents related to black ice. In 48 hours, they responded seven times to incidents involving people who had fallen on sidewalks. Even though gravel has been spread on some frozen sidewalks, it is important to exercise caution when walking by avoiding icy patches, watching where you are stepping, slowing down, and wearing appropriate, non-slip footwear or crampons.

Preschool Show
As the holidays approach, the preschool students will have the pleasure of enjoying a Christmas show at 3 p.m. Funded by the municipality, it is a puppet show entitled "Snowman's Christmas" and presented by the Theatrum Popularem company.
