Criterium injection bar
Three days until the Critérium! If temperatures continue to drop, no injections are planned for the Face. The slope has already been prepared several times. The base of the slalom course is quite firm and
therefore suitable for World Cup conditions. A FIS official, Janez Hladnik, will be present today to observe the slope and ensure all conditions are in place for the 70th Critérium de la Première Neige.

The teams have also begun grooming the OK slope for the women's Critérium. And for this 70th anniversary, a number of big names will be present to watch the World Cup. It will be possible to spot regional representatives Laurent Wauquiez and Fabrice Pannekoucke, Member of Parliament Vincent Rolland, President of the CCHT Yannick Amet, Prefect of Savoie Vanina Nicoli, Senator for Savoie Martine Berthet, as well as a delegation from the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee (COJOP) including Edgar Grospiron and President of the French Ski Federation (FFS) Fabien Saguez, in the stands. The Minister of Sports, Marina Ferrari, will also be present on December 21st for the women's Super-G event.

Tourism Brunch
Yesterday morning, around fifty tourism professionals attended the first brunch of the winter season. The
meeting began with a few words from the mayor before the new Director of the Tourist Office, Cécile
Ferrando, explained the new organization and the new management team following the departure of the former director of Val d'Isère Tourism, Christophe Lavaut. She also reminded the tourism professionals of Val d'Isère Tourism's mission: to promote tourism development in Val d'Isère, highlighting the village's
accommodation capacity last season with a total of 25,988 tourist beds, resulting in over 1.5 million
overnight stays. Also last year, over 1.4million ski days were sold, with a conversion rate of 81.1%
between overnight stays and ski days sold. The top five nationalities represented were British (42%),
French (35%), followed by Danes, Americans, Belgians, and Swedes. A comprehensive presentation of
all the services offered by the SEM (Société d'Économie Mixte, a type of public-private partnership) was given to the attending professionals, outlining the Tourist Office's action plan, objectives, missions, and results. The Director of the Tourist Office also highlighted the month of April, featuring a 40% discount package and events designed to boost business during the shoulder seasons. Last year, over 500 "Last Tracks" packages were sold. Several questions were raised during the meeting, and the discussions continued over refreshments.
