English Weather, News, Ski Report - February 21, 2024

20022024-process

WEATHER

After a clear night the clouds have rushed in, and there is the strong possibility of limited visability, a so called 'white out,' at times.
Sadly sun is well hidden today but the good news is that wind shouldn't be an issue
with an average of 11 km/hour on Pisaillas  at 10.00 though it may gust up to 35 km/hour.

We are back to a temperature inversion, so warmer in the village than on the tops of our
mountains.

At 10.00 the temperature is

  • -2° in the Village.
  • +1° on Solaise.
  • -4° on Pisaillas.

The Temperature will be between -4° and +5°at 2000 meters.

ROUTE

No problems are expected on the roads today.

There is a competition in the Snow Park from 11.00.
You don’t need to book in advance for this so come along, win a prize !

Please don’t race on other slopes.
Slaloming between beginners is both terrifying and dangerous.

Remember that on this warm day the Santons and the L are likely to close later due to the high risk
of avalanches engulfing one or both of these slopes.

One slab whipped onto the L overnight, but there are more slabs hovering......
Please don’t ski down a closed run

Tignes can be accessed via the Tommeuses or Borsat chairlifts.

The avalanche risk today is again  2 out of 5.

Never forget, the tricks and traps off piste are not limited to avalanches.
Choose you companions based on their rescue skills.
What about a booking to ski with a mountain guide ?

All our walking paths and cross county tracks are open apart from les Branges.
If you are lucky enough to be accompanied by a dog please remember to always pick up their poo or risk paying a 135 euro fine. Each time !
