descente-des-copains-2024

The mild and humid weather we had yesterday has certainly gone on its way, as we are expecting a cold and snowy day today, following the 11cm of snow we had overnight in the village. Winds at higher altitudes will be moderate westerly, gusting up to 50 km/h at 3000m.

We have a chilly morning inbound, temperatures currently sitting at -2°C in the village, and -8.5°C at the top of Bellevarde, and -11.5°C on the Pisaillas glacier, all temperatures are set to continue dropping as the day goes on. Today we are looking towards a maximum temperature of -2°C in the village.

You may have noticed it snowed overnight, hence, the roads are covered in snow and ice. The snow removal machines have been working hard to clear the roads since the early hours of the morning, but please take extra care when moving around on wheels.

Over to the young athletes of the Val d'Isère Club des Sports, who, once again, have done us proud!
For the ladies: Coline Quartier bagged the silver medal in the U18 slalom at the Grand Prix Intersport in La Plagne Montalbert, while Louna Lebas finished in a very impressive 4th place in the U16 category.
Over at La Rosière, in the U10 Haute-Tarentaise Micro-Cup, Heidi Reibel placed 4th and 5th in the giant slalom events, while Romy Casanova claimed second place in the second race which is brilliant!
For the men: Augustin Berthet finished 5th in the FIS Men’s Giant Slalom in Vars. At the U14 Inter-Region Silver Cup here in Val d'Isère, Timéo Lefranc earned a solid 3rd place, and Hélori Treffot wasn’t far behind in the slalom.
At Val Thorens, Jules Dufour Drai placed 4th in the U16 Giant Slalom. In the Grand Prix Intersport at La Plagne Montalbert, Léo Ysten grabbed the bronze and Paul Clément Marsala came in 5th. And, finally, at the U10 Haute-Tarentaise Micro-Cup, Roméo Bianchi finished 4th in both giant slalom races. ANd a huge congratulations to Roméo Elaikim Bauer, who claimed first place in the second race. A huge round of applause is well desaerved for all of them!
