Overcast conditions and a veil of cloud can be expected across our skies today, with stormy conditions rolling in towards the end of the day. A South / South-Easterly wind will also gain traction throughout the day, getting up to speeds of 60 km/hr across our ridgelines and summits.
The current warming trend continues, with positive temperatures returning to the village again today, expecting a maximum of +3°C.
Roads
The road is clear with no issues for vehicles. However, icy patches can still be found on the sidewalks.

The occupancy rate for the last week of January is predicted to be 88.8%, which is the highest of the month so far. 96,000 overnight stays are expected in the resort. Guests arriving from Long-haul flights are still here, but also the arrival of new doctors from the Doctor Update conference taking place this week, as reported by Cécile Ferrando, Director of Marketing and Communication at Val d'Isère Tourism.
In her interview with Radio Val this week, she also put out a reminder to be vigilant about accommodation scams concerning both professionals and their customers. Scams have unfortunately already occurred within the resort. The Tourism Office reminds holidaymakers to make reservations on official and recognised sites and not to share personal information outside of secure channels.
In terms of traffic, according to this weekend’s forecasts, travel conditions will be difficult in the direction of arrivals from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. In the return direction, the road network is likely to see congestion from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a peak around 11 o’clock. Tomorrow, traffic will be fluid in the direction of new arrivals. On the other hand, disruptions are expected in the return direction around 11 a.m. and then again from 4 - 8 p.m.
Last night was the Night of Reading in the village. Traditional stories and songs soothed the public in atypical local places such as the Chapels of La Daille and Fornet, and also the Ferme de l'Adroit (Our Photo).
On Wednesday, Masters students from the Geography and Mountain Planning program at the University Savoie Mont Blanc came to investigate one of their projects in Val d'Isère. The students had the opportunity to visit the new Vallon gondola lift, which combines performance, innovation and limited impact on the surrounding natural environment.

- The Red Shuttle will be circulating between La Daille and the Fornet every 5 minutes from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., every 10 minutes until 8 p.m. and then every 20 minutes until 2:30 a.m.
- The Yellow shuttle, up to the Manchet Valley, leaves every 20 minutes between 8:30 a.m. and 11:20 p.m.
- The Blue shuttle going up to the Legattaz is every 15 minutes between 8:30 a.m and 11 p.m.
- The free shuttle between Tignes and Val d'Isère runs 6 times a day :
