The first event was the Giant Slalom, with 55 participants. Activities included a PIDA challenge where ski patrollers had to throw a mock explosive at a target and then achieve the longest throw, moving a ball through a maze using a snow groomer blade, a ski patroller merchandise shop, a refreshment stand, and a barbecue at midday. Despite the freezing weather and wind, it was a beautiful morning that drew a large crowd. The event concluded with an awards ceremony and a private party at a club.
