Local News

Town Council

As is the case on the first Monday of every month, the March town council meeting will be held today. This will be the last meeting for this municipality before the elections on Sunday, March 15. On the agenda, the elected officials will approve the minutes of the town council meetings of January 5 and February 2 and review the decisions made by the mayor before addressing various other matters submitted for discussion. Among the 11 items on the agenda are the reassessment of census takers' compensation for the 2026 census, membership in the National Association of Mayors of Mountain Resorts, the creation of a joint procurement group for a public transportation contract on the Tignes-Val d'Isère route this summer, discussions between the municipality and the condominium association of the "Les Chalets du Laisinant" building, the Mountain Law agreement, the 2026 annual objectives agreement for Radio Val d'Isère, and the agreement with CDG73 regarding intervention in CNRACL pension cases. The meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. in the Council Chamber at the Maison Marcel Charvin. The municipal council meeting is open to the public and is available live on the town hall's YouTube channel.

Impulsion Avaline

The municipal election candidate list, Impulsion Avaline, headed by Patrick Martin, is holding its second public meeting today at 6:00 PM at the Henri Oreiller Convention Center. Attendees will be able to discover the complete list of candidates, the four main themes of the program, and the progress of the projects. They will also have the opportunity to meet the candidates and ask questions.

Seasonal Worker Survey

As mentioned last month, to better understand the realities of seasonal work, the municipality is conducting a study on seasonal employment needs. To this end, it has created a questionnaire for seasonal workers and their employers, particularly regarding living and housing conditions in the resort. This survey consists of 14 questions in French and English and is available online on the town hall website.

Cooking Workshop

Following the overwhelming success of our first cooking workshop on reducing food waste, the CCAS (Community Social Action Center) invites you to participate in a second workshop. This time, the topic will be eating a balanced diet on a tight budget. The workshop will be led by a registered dietitian with expert guidance. The CCAS cooking workshops offer solutions to the challenge of food access in the resort, a concern shared by several local stakeholders, including the CCAS and Vie Val d'Is. The workshop will be held on Thursday, March 19th at 6:30 pm in the Presbytery Hall. To participate, simply register with the CCAS. Please note that the workshop is free and space is limited.

Beekeeping

To help combat winter colds, the Farandole Avaline Parents' Association (APE) is offering a unique and community-minded solution. Known for its many beneficial properties, a solidarity honey sale will be offered by the association in partnership with the small, local, family-run beekeeping operation Aciu l'Abeille and Hugues Nombot, featuring delicious honey and related products such as candies, beeswax, and soap. 15% of each order will be donated to the parents' association to fund school projects for students in Val d'Isère. Orders can be placed until March 15th via the online shop and the QR code available on the poster and social media. The first delivery will be scheduled after this date and will be communicated by email as soon as the orders are received.
