Destination Mountain

Last week, tourism professionals and Val d'Isère Tourism were present at the Destination Mountain trade show, held last Tuesday and Wednesday in Grenoble. This event brings together all mountain tourism professionals and tour operators from around the world. It provides a unique platform for negotiating partnerships and promoting the diverse tourism offerings of the French mountain ranges, both in winter and summer.

For over 30 years, this trade show has brought together more than 1,000 tourism stakeholders, including 220 French companies and 420 tour operators from nearly 60 countries. Last year, 10,465 business meetings were held there.

Loyalty Medal

This week, seven loyalty medals were awarded . Clauda Hayes received the copper medal for 15 years of loyalty. She returns every year to enjoy the exceptional setting of Val d'Isère. Her husband, Nicolas Morton, received the bronze medal for 20 years of loyalty. Their fondest memory remains their meeting in a bar on the Daille snow front, frequented by the English. Michael Sulivan also received the copper medal for his 15 years in Val d'Isère. He decided to buy an apartment in the village and witnessed the meeting of the couple with whom he became friends. Thay Silva received the gold medal for 40 years of loyalty. He told us he wouldn't go anywhere else and tries to come every month, as well as for family holidays at Christmas and in the spring. This group of English friends was sponsored by Yann Gunie. Vanessa Gravelle, sponsored by Yvonne Ducarouge, received the copper medal for her 15 years in Val d'Isère. Her fondest memories with her partner are from Val d'Isère, where their relationship blossomed, and it was for this reason that they chose to get married there just a few days earlier. Finally, a couple also received the gold medal from Sandrine for their 40 years of loyalty. This was Martine and Jean-Pierre Blayac. They first arrived in the resort by chance, and since then they have never left Val d'Isère. Together, they fondly reminisce about the 2009 World Championships and their children playing sledding at La Daille. For them, Val d'Isère is a true haven of peace with very warm and welcoming locals. The next medal ceremony will be held tomorrow.
