Local News

Mayor's New Year's Greetings

At the start of the year, the mayor announced his New Year's wishes for 2026. Addressing more than fifty people, Patrick Martin wished everyone happiness, health, success, and peace. He also discussed several topics, reviewing his term in office and the projects completed and implemented for the village and its residents. The mayor reiterated the goal of improving the quality of life for the residents and moving forward with respect, trust, solidarity, and community spirit. Several local figures were present, including the President of the Haute-Tarentaise Community of Municipalities. The ceremony concluded with a reception.

Marmottes

The STVI teams are still working on the gearbox for the Les Marmottes chairlift. It was brought down to the bottom of La Daille on Monday and taken to the STVI garage workshop yesterday morning. The teams were able to locate the broken parts and are continuing to dismantle and check all the components of the gearbox before sending it back to the Swiss manufacturer.

Val d'Isère Téléphérique is still in contact with various German, Italian, and Swiss partners to find a solution as quickly as possible. As a reminder, several options are being explored, such as repairing or replacing the parts in question, or replacing the entire gearbox. The Swiss manufacturer recommends opting for the third option. It should be noted that the Les Marmottes chairlift is a prototype. Therefore, the gearbox for this lift is no longer in production. For the moment, we are uncertain about the opening of the chairlift due to significant manufacturing and delivery delays. We therefore ask that you be patient for a few more days, or even a few weeks, before you can use Les Marmottes again. We will keep you informed of any developments.
