A very active day today with heavy snowfall. The Snow accumulations for the next 12 hours, will be around 30cm by 6 pm this evening A high avalanche risk is expected this Thursday, with the 72-hour accumulations exceeding one meter at in the areas with the highest snowfall. Strong west to northwest wind present on the ridges: often 70-80 km/h in gusts.
Currently at 8am it is -9°C up at the Pisaillas, -6°C at the top of Bellevarde, and -1°C here in town. The temperatures will remain stable throughout the day.
Roads
The roads are being actively cleared it is essential to have snow tyres and snow chains/socks on vehicles.
Pedestrian access towards Fornet from Les Richardes was also prohibited yesterday. Due to the heavy snowfall expected today, the avalanche situation will likely cause traffic restrictions starting this morning, with closures of all access roads for pedestrians to Laisinant and Fornet. We will keep you informed.

Missing Person
Alexandre Delaporte has been missing since Sunday. The 43-year-old seasonal worker was last seen leaving a nightclub around 3:30 a.m. His employer filed a missing person report with the Val d'Isère gendarmerie. Thanks to the village's security cameras, the gendarmes were able to track his movements. The missing man was picked up by the nightclub's shuttle, which dropped him off on Avenue du Prariond. He then walked up to the Richardes roundabout. The last images captured by the surveillance cameras show him heading towards Laisinant. His phone is no longer in service and he cannot be reached. Avalanche Triggering Intervention Plan (PIDA)
Due to heavy snowfall, an avalanche triggering intervention plan (PIDA) has been in effect since 6:50 a.m. across the entire ski area. Two such plans were already implemented yesterday morning, at dawn and in the afternoon, forcing the early closure of ski lifts, including Pyramides, Vallon, and the Fornet cable car. The Tignes link was also closed, and there were disruptions to bus schedules and the Blue Train service. Pedestrian access towards Fornet from Les Richardes was also prohibited yesterday at 2:00 p.m. Due to the heavy snowfall expected today, the avalanche situation will likely necessitate traffic restrictions starting this morning, with a possible closure of all access roads to Laisinant and Fornet. Literary Event
Yesterday, the first literary event was held at Crazy Barm's with Yaguel Didier in attendance. The thirty or so people present had the opportunity to chat with the renowned French clairvoyant about her latest book, "The Keys to Destiny." In this book, she recounts her life story, her long career, and shares anecdotes from her time assisting the gendarmerie with investigations, predicting natural disasters, and consulting with prominent politicians.
At the end of her book, for the first time, we also see her personal deck of cards, which is an integral part of her story.
Attendees were able to purchase the book on site and have it personally signed by Yaguel Didier. Two more literary events will be held next Monday and Wednesday at Crazy Barm's.
Opening at Barmes de l'Ours
This evening, the opening of the Flora and Fauna exhibition will take place in the presence of visual artist Michel Paysant. He invites us to discover his vision of mountain flora and fauna in works that appear traditional but are in fact technological and created using the Daly technique, "drawing with the eyes," which he invented.
These are truly original works, created not with a paintbrush, but simply through observation.
Around forty drawings by Michel Paysant will be on display this evening at 6 p.m. for the opening and will be available until April 12 in the Barmes de l'Ours exhibition hall.
CCAS Snow Factory Tour
CCAS seniors will have the pleasure of discovering what goes on behind the scenes at STVI. Registered participants will be able to visit the snow factory this afternoon, as well as the Olympic machinery. This is an opportunity for seniors to learn more about snowmaking and how a gondola lift works. The meeting point is at 3:45 p.m. in front of the Solaise ticket office.
Magic Show
Yesterday afternoon, children were captivated by the rhythmic and interactive magic of Fairy Skelpeu. This whimsical and whimsical character led the 210 children and parents from one surprise to another with various magic tricks that delighted the audience.
