Council
Yesterday morning, the December council meeting was held. This session included 25 subjects. Among them were the public works contract for road
repairs and improvements, and the concession agreement for the construction and operation of a
mechanical lift installation. Known as the Skyglider project, it is a type of zipline designed to operate both
day and night, summer and winter, and integrated into the environment of the Olympique cable car.
The item concerning the “Mountain Law” agreement received one abstention during the vote. The subsidy request to the Savoie Departmental Council for the construction of the “Face à Face” building
was approved, as were the 2025/2026 objective agreements for Val d’Isère Tourisme and the Club des Sports.

A few debates took place during the meeting, particularly regarding the issue of bulky waste still present in the resort and access to the waste disposal site. After completing the agenda, several questions were raised, such as the new smoking ban on the ski area, updates on the 2030 Olympic
Games, negotiations with Tignes concerning skier traffic flow, and the future of the old bus station for this winter.

The next session will take place on Monday, December 5th at 8:30 a.m., in the Council Room at the Maison Marcel Charvin.

Tourism Brunch

Val d'Isère Tourism invites tourism professionals to a new event. Following the tourism events, it's time for a tourism event to discuss upcoming winter schedules. For this first meeting at 11:00 AM at the Fondue Factory, the new management team of Val d'Isère Tourism will be presented, along with visitor figures and new features for the season. The Tourist Office teams will outline their action plan before focusing on the end of the season. This meeting for tourism professionals will conclude with a friendly aperitif to continue the discussions.

Communications Awards

The Val d'Isère council received three national awards at the 2025 Communications Awards. The council's communications department won first prize for best council newsletter (for councils
with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants), third prize for best event-based communications campaign
(public organizations), and fourth prize for best mobile application (public and private combined).

These awards recognize the work carried out by the communications department in terms of the
quality of local institutional communications, the coherence of its communications strategy, and its focus on residents. As a reminder, the Communications Awards are a leading national
competition open to both public and private organizations. Each category selects five winners
from among several hundred applications, ranging from 500 to 1,500 per category. The municipality of Val d'Isère had already won an award last year, the "Tech Champion of France 2024" award, at the National Conference of Digital Communities held at Futuroscope.
