Video Games
For those who are eager to hit the slopes - good news: Val d’Isère now has its own video game! Val d’Isère Tourisme collaborated with three Swedish
developers who released Grand Mountain Adventure 2 last year, as explained by Cécile Ferrando, Director of the Tourist Office.

The map was released on the same day as the resort opening. Players can ski down the Face de Bellevarde or on the Sentons side while taking on challenges such as slaloms, escaping avalanches, or freestyle tricks. The game is realistic, created in part using maps provided by the Piste Management Team — an innovative and original way to discover the ski area
from a new perspective.

The entire ski area is not planned for development, but Val d’Isère is expected to remain the only French resort featured in the game. It can be
downloaded on Android and iPhone, and the Val d’Isère map can be accessed for free using the promo code Valdi 2026.

Ski Patrol
Last Thursday, a “Mountain and Safety” meeting was held for around forty local professionals. Several key actors from the resort participated:
● The SDJES (Service Départemental de la Jeunesse, de l’Engagement et des Sports) reviewed professional licence regulations and work permit controls.
● The PGHM (Peloton de Gendarmerie de Haute Montagne) explained alert protocols, helicopter interventions, and radio communication procedures.
● The Piste Management Team discussed ski area rescue operations.
● The hospital provided guidance on preventing and managing hypothermia.

The meeting, held at the Henri Oreiller Conference Centre, helped raise awareness among local professionals about safety on the ski slopes.
