Local News

Super-G Awareness
The Val d'Isère ski patrol invites you to experience the thrill of Super-G during a race open to all. After its great success last winter, this speed awareness event returns to the Borsat green run in the Bellevarde sector, offering a fun and engaging way to learn about safety. Super-G will be offered every Tuesday during the Christmas and February school holidays, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in a dedicated, specially prepared, and secured area, allowing you to enjoy the speed with complete confidence.

Avalanche Prevention
Also focused on prevention, but this time concerning avalanches, the Vie Val d'Is association offers its members practical training. Participants will learn how to reduce the risk of avalanches while skiing off-piste and will put their knowledge into practice by using an avalanche transceiver (DVA). This training session will begin at 6:00 PM at the bottom of the Bellevarde Express chairlift, with four 30-minute slots. Please note that registration with Vie Val d'Is is mandatory and that groups are limited to four people.

Magic Show
Magic and illusion come to Val d'Isère. Artist Stéphane Correas invites you to discover the magic of mentalism and humor in a show for an unforgettable experience. After spending 20 years on the stages of the greatest Parisian cabarets, the magician-mentalist will present a one-man show blending humor, magic, improvisation, and witty banter, where the audience will be an integral part of the performance. The show starts at 6:00 PM at the Henri Oreiller Congress Center. Reservations can be made today until 5:00 PM or directly at the ticket office from 5:30 PM.

La Nuit De La Glisse
Last night, 332 people were present at the Henri Oreiller Convention Center for the Night of the Glide. Two films were shown and were well received and applauded by the audience: "Free Birds" and "Chronicles of a Wild Decade." Norwegian freerider Fred Syversen, who participated in the filming of the first film shown, was present to share his experience with the audience.

APVI

The Val d'Isère Owners' Association held its general meeting last night at the Henri Oreiller Congress Center. Several topics were discussed in the presence of Mayor Patrick Martin and his councilors Véronique Pesenti-Gros, Thierry Balenbois, and Philippe Arnaud, the director of the Tourist Office Cécile Ferrando, a representative from STVI (the Val d'Isère Ski School), and a representative from ESF (the French Ski School). Among the topics addressed were the property tax on second homes in tourist towns, the new Local Urban Development Plan, the 2030 Olympic Games, and the financing of the Face à Face building and the UCPA (French National Union of Outdoor Sports Centers) project. Other questions were raised by the assembly, such as projects funded by membership fees, benefits and preferential rates with the association's partners, summer development and activities during the Christmas period, as well as the numerous works carried out during the summer and off-season, village cleanliness including the issue of bulky waste, and road maintenance. APVI also reviewed the year, noting a significant increase in membership and a rejuvenation of its members, with a total of 221 paying members during the 2024/2025 year. The board members expressed their desire to collaborate with the Sports Club, to have a new representative for the Val Village sector, and to offer to support the future municipal council in negotiating contracts and public service delegations that are nearing their expiration. Finally, APVI shared its greatest current concern: the relationship with Tignes regarding the ski area. Nearly one hundred members were present at this general meeting, which was followed by a friendly drink.
