La Nuit de la Glisse
La nuit de la glisse returns to Val d'Isère today, offering viewers a unique visual experience. Two complementary films will be screened this evening. The contemporary film "Free Birds," directed by Thierry Donard and Olivier Sautet, propels the audience into the present with young riders pushing their limits in extreme settings, from XXL surfing in Nazaré to speedriding in the Alps.
The first part of La nuit de la glisse will feature the documentary "Chronicles of a Wild Decade," which revisits the 2010s through the director's archives and the total commitment of a generation of athletes, including Norwegian freerider Fred Syversen, who unintentionally set a world record during a film shoot.
Norwegian freerider Fred Syversen will be at the Nuit de la Glisse this evening to chat with the public. The event starts at 6:00 PM at the Henri Oreiller Congress Centre.
Winter Events
The winter season has gotten off to a great start with major events like the First Tracks Weekend and the First Snow Criterium. Other highlights will punctuate the season, including New Year's Eve on the snow front, featuring Lyon-based DJ and producer Étienne de Crécy and a fireworks display.
In addition to the major winter events, various activities will be offered each week. On the program: various sleds to discover and try out on the snow front, treasure hunts, sculpture workshops, guided tours of the resort and the farm, as well as children's shows and torchlight descents during school holidays. For the more athletic, the Avaline Trax in La Daille, the cross-country ski race in the Place des Dolomites, and the Dynastar Trophy on the Savonnette slope will also return this winter, much to the delight of holidaymakers.
