Super-G Results
Italian Sofia Goggia shone yesterday morning in the Super-G, winning this World Cup event. She finished the course on the Oreiller-Killy piste in 1 minute and 20 seconds, followed by New Zealander Alice Robinson and American Lindsey Vonn, who won the bronze medal for the second consecutive time. A great comeback for the Italian, who had finished 8th in the downhill.
Sofia Goggia had already reached the podium in the downhill event at the Critérium in 2020, as well as in both the downhill and super-G events in 2021. Among the French women, Camille Cerutti, representing the Risoul Sports Club, thrilled the spectators by finishing 5th. Romane Miradoli finished 9th, Laura Gauché from Tignes came in 16th, Clara Direz 34th, Loïs Abouly 43rd, and Garance Meyer 47th.”
Minister of Sports
For the Women's Super-G, Minister of Sports Marina Ferrari was in La Daille to attend the Critérium and support the French athletes.
But the Minister of Sports was also visiting in preparation for the 2030 French Alps Winter Games. Marina Ferrari announced that the official map of venues will not be revealed before June 2026 and remains vague about Val d'Isère's participation in the 2030 Winter Olympics.
During her visit, the Minister of Sports was able to view the competition course from a gondola in La Daille, participated in the medal ceremony, and also delivered an official address to close this 70th edition of the Critérium.
Award for Teb
An unsung hero was also honored after the Women's Super-G awards ceremony. Teb, a ski patroller for over 40 years, was pleasantly surprised to receive a trophy in recognition of his work before his retirement at the end of the winter season. Teb is one of the few ski patrollers in the Régie des Pistes (Ski Patrol Authority) race department to have 43 Critériums to his credit. It was a moving moment for this patroller, who found himself on the podium with the female athletes, surrounded by the team that worked on the Women's Critérium. The Director of the Clubs Des Sports also paid tribute to him with a heartfelt speech.
CCAS Christmas
The CCAS seniors celebrated Christmas by enjoying the traditional Yule log in the presence of the Mayor and elected official Dominique Maire. A convivial and festive moment was enjoyed with a concert by Jam and Jazz, which brought together around fifty people in the Council Chamber of the Maison Marcel Charvin. Each senior citizen had the pleasure of receiving a gift basket of canned fish from Brittany.
