René Bozzetto
René Bozzetto passed away on Friday at the age of 80. The Bozzetto family, including his great-grandfather Feruccio Bozzetto, arrived in Val d'Isère in the 1940s/50s with the distribution of heating oil in the mountains, a revolutionary business at the time. They later settled in the village, establishing a depot before opening the garage. The Bozzetto company was also featured in a documentary directed by Georges De Caunes in the 1960s, which was shown in cinemas throughout France before feature films. René began working at the age of 17, delivering heating oil and working at the garage next to Médival. He later took over the family business with his wife Régine, with whom he had two children: Stéphanie and Mathieu. In 1963, he decided to found his taxi and transport company, renowned in the region for its reliability and professionalism: Taxi Bozzetto, as well as Bozzetto Ambulances. In 2003, René Bozzetto took a well-deserved retirement, remaining in the village during the tourist season and spending the off-season between Chambéry and Notre-Dame-du-Pré. He also enjoyed his free time indulging his lifelong passion: cars and motorcycles, through numerous trips, including a motorcycle tour of Europe and the United States. He was known to everyone and dedicated to serving the resort and its residents. He is described by his loved ones as a genuine, hardworking, and principled person, a man of his word, and exceptionally kind. René Bozzetto will be cremated in a private ceremony in Chambéry, surrounded by his family and friends.

Savoie Mont-Blanc Study
Three Master's students in Geography and Mountain Planning at the University of Savoie Mont-Blanc are conducting a study in Val d'Isère. Commissioned by the municipality, the group of students is working on a professional project from September to February. Their topic focuses on the restructuring of the Bellevarde sector in both summer and winter. Alice, Sylvain, and Lucas will work on overall cohesion within the ski area, developing a dry-mountain link between Tignes and Val d'Isère, and redefining the sector from the summit of the Olympique to the Daille plain, passing through the Borsat summit and the Col de Fresse. They will also identify the stakes for each stakeholder involved in the study area who could also contribute to its development through organized interviews. The students have already completed the diagnostic phase on the ground, particularly on the slopes. After identifying the issues, such as the distribution of traffic on the Tignes-Val d'Isère link, the group will begin its research phase, examining existing solutions elsewhere for inspiration. The results will be presented on February 26th at the Université Savoie Mont-Blanc, with a second presentation in Val d'Isère on March 5th at 10:00 AM.
