Loyalty Medal
Last week, six new loyalty medals were awarded. Jens Egelund-Müller, Knud Westphal Eriksen, Jesper Kalko, Jesper Knutsson, Morten Vernon Jorgensen, and Peter Dahl each received the gold medal for their 42 years of loyalty from their sponsor, Frédérique Moris. Originally from Denmark, this group of childhood friends first discovered Val d'Isère during a school trip in high school, and since then, they have returned together every winter, counting down the days. They appreciate the ski area and the beauty of the village. The group of friends loves soaking up the sun and enjoying the scenery on a mountain restaurant terrace, also taking a souvenir photo. Jesper Knutsson and Knud Westphal Eriksen share their memories as vacationers and former seasonal workers.
Another loyalty medal ceremony was held during the International Adventure and Discovery Film Festival, which we will cover in more detail soon.
Eagle Egg!
A temporary protected area has been established in the Danaïdes off-piste area, starting from Solaise towards Laisinant, in the immediate vicinity of the Lavancher couloir. A pair of eagles has nested in the cliff and is currently incubating their eggs. Any presence or noise disturbance in this area could lead to the nest being abandoned and jeopardize the survival of the egg. Thank you for your vigilance and respect for these birds and these areas.
